    For the Preliminary Task, we decided to film at our school in the new building with one of our good friends who took Drama for GCSE. Our camera repeatedly ran out of charge upon first trying to record so we ended up returning the next day to record with a different camera which was much more successfull. We struggled a little bit with how to deal with the 180 degree rule to start with but once we got into it, we began to understand it which will definitely help us for our main project. The first time we edited it, we struggled quite a lot with how to merge sound and how to ensure certain clips transitioned smoothly but, eventually and with the help of our teacher, we managed it in the end. Overall we found the Preliminary Task fairly simple and we learnt a few vital skills like how to handle the camera and how to do continuity editing to a decent standard from the process. It was definitely useful for giving us experience for our actual film.
